This month’s Shining Lights spotlight shines brightly on the 23rd Owston Beaver Colony who have been leading the way with their inspiring work towards the Community Impact Badge.
Their theme? Kindness, and they’ve already made an incredible start.
The Beavers recently welcomed a representative from Be Well Doncaster to one of their meetings where they shared all the things they love about their local area and the ways they think it could be made even better. From there they’ve each made their own Kindness Pledges committing to small acts that make a big difference and signed up to the Choose Kindness Pledge.
Over the next few months the colony will continue to spread kindness across Owston by connecting with a local care home, nursery and schools, sharing positivity and bringing smiles wherever they go.
They’ve also applied for a community grant to help fund a special event at their Scout hut celebrating the power of kindness and community spirit.
Congratulations to 23rd Owston Beavers for being true Shining Lights in Doncaster Scouts. You’re showing us all how a little kindness can go a long way.
