Purpose of the Role
To support Cubs and Scouts provision across the district, ensuring a challenging, relevant, and rewarding programme that retains young people and prepares them for progression into Explorers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Cub Packs and Scout Troops across the district
- Improve programme quality and consistency across sections
- Drive retention from Cubs to Scouts and Scouts to Explorers
- Support leaders to deliver adventurous and engaging programmes
- Promote and support achievement of Top Awards
- Identify and support struggling sections
- Share best practice across Groups
- Contribute to district events and programme delivery

- Strong retention between Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers
- Increased Top Award achievement across sections
- High-quality, engaging programmes being delivered
- Leaders feel confident, supported, and capable
- Sustainable section sizes across the district
Time Commitment
- Monthly Programme Team meeting
- Ongoing support to Groups
- Attendance at key events
Skills & Experience
- Experience in Cubs and/or Scouts
- Understanding of programme delivery and progression
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Passion for adventurous activities
Support & Reporting
- Reports to: Programme & Events Team Lead
- Works with: Group Lead Volunteers, Cub and Scout Section Teams, 4–8 Team Lead, 14–24 Team Lead
