What the lake offers

Barnby Dun Lake provides calm, enclosed water that is well suited to canoeing and kayaking activities. The environment allows young people to build confidence on the water while learning and developing practical skills.

The lake is suitable for use by Beavers through to Scouts, provided activities are led by appropriately qualified and experienced leaders in line with Scouts guidance.

It is a long established activity site that has been used by Doncaster Scouts for many years, offering a familiar and well understood setting for District water activities.

Boats, paddles and buoyancy aids are available through District arrangements, helping Groups access water activities without needing to own their own equipment.

The lake is managed through Doncaster Sailing Association, with Doncaster Danum Scouting currently an active user group. Sessions are run by Scouts for Scouts and focus on safe, enjoyable and well supervised water activities.
