Patrol Leaders Training Camp

This training camp is designed to build confidence, develop leadership skills and help you get the most out of your role within your Troop.
Event Overview
The Danum Patrol Leaders’ Training Camp is a practical and engaging weekend focused on developing leadership skills through teamwork, activities and real Scouting scenarios.
Throughout the weekend, Scouts will take part in a range of activities designed to help them understand their role as a Patrol Leader, support their Troop effectively and lead with confidence.
It’s also a great opportunity to meet Scouts from across the district, share ideas and take inspiration back to your own Troop.

Who Can Attend
- Scouts
- Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders or those preparing for the role
- Maximum 3 Scouts per Group
Key Details
- Venue: Squirrel Wood Campsite
- Dates: Friday 5 March to Sunday 7 March 2027
- Time: 7:30pm Friday to 3:00pm Sunday
- Cost: £40 per Scout
- Accommodation: Indoor lodge accommodation
Kit List
- Full uniform (must be worn throughout the weekend)
- Strong bag or rucksack
- Outdoor boots or shoes
- Trainers for indoor use
- Trousers, tracksuit or jeans
- Waterproof coat
- T-shirts
- Jumpers or sweatshirts
- Underclothes
- Gloves, scarf and hat
- Sleeping bag, blanket and pillow
- Spare bin bags for dirty clothes
- Wash kit and towel
- Tea towel
- Torch
Provided by the District:
- All food
- Cooking equipment and cutlery
Important Information
- Transport to and from Squirrel Wood is not provided
- Mobile phones, electronic devices and handheld games are not permitted
- Knives are not permitted
- Items may be confiscated if brought to camp
Booking & Payment
- Bookings open: 7 December 2026
- Bookings close: 7 February 2027
- Bookings must be made online by the Group
- Your Group will be invoiced for all places booked
- Payment should be made by bank transfer before the event
- Medical and dietary information must be completed at the time of booking
- Please use the parent or guardian email address when booking
Leader Information
- Leaders are not required to attend
- The event will be fully run and delivered by the District Events Team under a Nights Away Permit
