Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon filled with festive fun, Christmas magic and more activities than ever before.

Frosty’s Winter Wonderland returns to Squirrel Wood for 2026, bringing together Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs from across Doncaster Danum District for crafts, games, festive food, exciting activities and a special visit from Santa.

And brand new for 2026, Frosty’s Winter Wonderland will feature its very own Fun Fair.

Event Overview

Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is a festive afternoon designed especially for our younger sections.

Young people can explore around 25 different activities at their own pace, enjoy a hot dog and hot chocolate and visit Santa’s Grotto, where every child will receive a present.

Spaces are limited and this event is always popular, so early booking is recommended.

What to Expect

This event will operate on a Queue and Do basis.

Please note that we cannot guarantee participants will be able to take part in every activity or ride available. We will manage queues as much as possible throughout the event. If an activity has a long queue, Groups should move on to another activity and return later. This will help young people avoid waiting around and potentially missing other activities.

With around 25 activities planned, there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Young people can get creative in the Elves’ Workshop, make wooden Christmas tree decorations, roast marshmallows and enjoy festive favourites including Christmas bingo and a snowman beetle drive.

There will also be plenty of action and adventure with Weaselling, junior tomahawks, Nerf Alley and hook a duck.

And brand new for 2026, Frosty’s Fun Fair will feature a giant Fun House, Tea Cups and a festive Train.

Every child will also visit Santa’s Grotto, receive a present and enjoy a hot dog and hot chocolate.

Brand New for 2026: Frosty’s Fun Fair

This year, Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is getting even bigger with the addition of an exciting Fun Fair.

The Fun Fair will include:

• A giant Fun House
• Tea Cups
• A festive Train

These fantastic new attractions are included in the ticket price and will be available throughout the event.

Santa’s Grotto

Every young person will have the opportunity to visit Santa’s Grotto and receive a present.

Grotto times will be allocated to Groups in advance based on the number of young people attending. Leaders will receive their allocated time during the leader briefing.

This will help reduce queues and make sure every Group has plenty of time with the big man himself.

Who Can Attend

Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is open to:

• Squirrels
• Beavers
• Cubs

Young people must attend as part of their section with their leaders. This is not a drop off event and individual families cannot make bookings.

Food and Dietary Requirements

Every young person will receive:

• A hot dog
• A hot chocolate

Adult volunteers will have access to hot drinks but must bring their own reusable cup or mug.

The name and dietary requirements of every young person must be provided when booking. This is essential because several activities involve food and hot dogs will be served to all young people.

Please make sure all allergy and dietary information is complete and accurate at the time of booking.

Exclusive Frosty’s 2026 Event Badge

A limited edition Frosty’s 2026 event badge is available to celebrate the event.

Badges can be ordered in advance for just £2 each when booking.

A limited number will be available to purchase on the day for £2.50 each. As this is a limited run, ordering in advance is recommended to avoid missing out.

Kit List

Young people should bring or wear:

• Group neckerchief, which must be worn
• Christmas jumper, encouraged
• Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather
• A waterproof coat
• Spending money for the Squirrel Wood Shop

Adult volunteers must bring their own reusable cup or mug if they would like a hot drink.

Important Information

• This is a leader led event and young people must attend with their section
• Santa’s Grotto times will be allocated to Groups and provided at the leader briefing
• Attending leaders will be expected to support their young people throughout the event
• Further event information will be shared with Groups closer to the event

Booking & Payment

• Bookings open: Thursday 10 September 2026
• Bookings close: Sunday 8 November 2026
• Young person ticket: £15
• Advance event badge: £2
• Bookings can only be made by Group leaders
• Individual bookings cannot be made by parents or carers
• Names and dietary requirements must be provided at the time of booking
• Event badges should be ordered during the booking process
• Groups will be invoiced for all places and badges booked
• Payment must be made by bank transfer

Leader Information

Leaders must arrive at Squirrel Wood by 1.00pm.

A leader briefing will take place at 1.15pm before young people begin arriving from 1.45pm. Leaders will receive important event information and their Group’s allocated Santa’s Grotto time during this briefing.

Each section will receive complimentary adult places in line with the required ratios:

• Squirrels: One complimentary adult for every four young people
• Beavers: One complimentary adult for every six young people
• Cubs: One complimentary adult for every eight young people

Groups must ensure that the correct number of adults attend and that their usual section ratios are maintained throughout the event.

Attending leaders will need to help participants move through the activities efficiently. This includes supporting young people with activities such as arts and crafts and helping event volunteers supervise activities where required.

Volunteers Needed

Calling All Leaders and Young Leaders

To help make Frosty’s Winter Wonderland a success, we need additional leaders and Young Leaders to assist the event team throughout the day.

Volunteer roles will include:

• Running games and activities
• Assisting in the arts and crafts area
• Helping to move props, decorations and lighting
• Supervising activities
• Directing participants around the site
• Helping during arrival and collection

Event Terms and Waiver

By making a booking, the Group acknowledges and agrees to the following event terms:

• All places must be booked in advance by a Group leader
• Groups cannot arrive on the day without a confirmed booking
• Full payment is required 30 days before the event
• All places booked are non refundable
• Young people must attend as part of their section with the appropriate number of leaders
• Groups must maintain the correct adult to young person ratios throughout the event
• We cannot guarantee that participants will be able to take part in every activity or ride available. We will manage queues as much as possible but some activities may be particularly popular. If an activity has a long queue, Groups should move on to another activity and return later to avoid waiting around and missing other activities
• Attending leaders will be expected to help young people in their Group take part in activities
• Leader support will be particularly important for activities such as arts and crafts
• Photographs and video footage will be taken throughout the event. Footage will be used by Doncaster Danum Scouts on social media, the District website and in future promotional materials including leaflets, posters and digital advertising
• The car park is expected to be very busy during arrival and collection. Queues and delays may occur while volunteers and staff safely manage vehicle movements and parking
• Groups and families are encouraged to share transport wherever possible to help reduce the number of vehicles arriving on site
