Squirrels Fun Day 2026

Squirrel Fun Day 2026
Overview
The Squirrel Fun Day at Squirrel Wood is a fun, friendly introduction to outdoor Scouting, designed especially for our youngest members. The day focuses on enjoyment, confidence building and trying new things in a safe and supportive woodland environment.
Squirrels will remain with their own Groups throughout the event, helping them feel comfortable and confident as they take part in activities alongside familiar leaders and friends. This approach creates a calm, well supported experience perfectly suited to their age and stage.
Throughout the day, Groups will rotate around a variety of activity bases, giving Squirrels the opportunity to enjoy a range of hands on challenges without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Activities are designed to support Squirrel badges and early skills development while encouraging teamwork, confidence and participation.
Planned activities may include:
- Simple Scout skills
- Outdoor games
- Creative crafts
- Nature activities
- Team challenges
- Hands on outdoor activities
Leaders will remain with their own Groups throughout the day, supported by the district team running activities across the site. The focus of the event is on fun, exploration and positive experiences, allowing every Squirrel to take part at their own pace.
The Squirrel Fun Day is a brilliant opportunity for young people to experience outdoor Scouting, build confidence and enjoy a memorable day at Squirrel Wood.
Arrival & Event Timings
- Leaders and helpers should arrive no later than 9.00am
- All Squirrels should arrive at Squirrel Wood Scout Campsite, DN6 9JQ, by 9.30am

Drop Off & Collection
We will be operating a rolling drop off and collection system throughout the event.
