Dress Code

This is a special occasion. Young people will receive their awards in front of their families, fellow Scouts, leaders and invited guests, including the Civic Mayor. Please help them arrive looking and feeling proud.

Young people receiving an award must wear full, correct uniform for their current section: their section jumper or shirt, Group or Unit necker and the correct woggle. Friendship knots, polo shirts, hoodies and part uniform are not suitable for this event.

The Top Award badge must be sewn onto their uniform before the event, with all other badges in the correct places. If a young person has moved up a section, they should wear their new section’s uniform with the Top Award badge from their previous section displayed on it.

Young people must wear Scout trousers or smart navy trousers. Jeans, leggings and sports shorts are not suitable. Uniform should be clean, ironed and smartly worn.

Please wear clean, smart, closed toe shoes. Plain, dark coloured trainers are fine if they are clean. Please avoid brightly coloured sports trainers, sandals and Crocs.

Leaders and other uniformed volunteers should wear full, smart adult uniform, including their necker and woggle, with smart navy trousers or a skirt.

If an adjustment is needed for accessibility, comfort, cultural or religious reasons, please contact the event team in advance.
