Senior Leadership Team
The District Senior Leadership Team provides leadership and management across Doncaster Danum, ensuring young people can access the very best opportunities in life and that they do so safely. This core team is responsible for the day to day oversight of the District, including growth, programme quality, volunteer development and overall operational performance.
We are approachable, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement. We welcome volunteers, parents and young people to speak to us for advice, support or to share feedback so we can continue to strengthen Scouting across our District.
David Plant
District Lead Volunteer
David has overall responsibility for the District. It is his role to ensure the district runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that young people can benefit from good quality scouting.
Andy McAteer
Support Team Lead
The Support Team Lead looks after our various support sub teams which include facilities & Assets, Administration, Communications & Media, Growth & New Provision and District Scout Shop
James Hagyard
Programme & Events Team Lead
James’ specific area of responsibility is programme support. He leads our Programme Team and various sub teams to ensure young people are getting the very best programme opportunities.
Chris Green
Volunteering Development Team Lead
Chris looks after the volunteer experience and journey. He works with the District’s Welcome, Learning and Awards & Recognition teams to ensure everyone feels valued and supported in their roles.
District Youth Leads
Our District Youth Leads ensure that young people shape decisions across Doncaster Danum. Working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, they champion youth voice, influence strategy and help ensure our programme remains relevant, engaging and ambitious for all young people.
They play a vital role in strengthening youth shaped Scouting, supporting the Youth Forum and promoting leadership opportunities and top awards. Their insight helps us remain focused on what truly matters — delivering great experiences that prepare young people with skills for life.

Wider District Leadership Team
The Wider District Leadership Team brings together Group Lead Volunteers and District Team Leads to ensure Scouting across Doncaster Danum is safe, sustainable and consistently high quality. This collaborative forum enables shared learning, collective problem solving and clear communication across all Groups and sections.
By working together, we strengthen support for volunteers, improve programme delivery and ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive. It reflects our commitment to partnership, transparency and a District where no Group operates in isolation.
