District Freezer Camp
Can your Scouts handle the freeze?
Freezer Camp is back for 2027 — a full weekend of challenge, adventure and cold-weather Scouting at Squirrel Wood. One of the most talked-about events in the district calendar, this is not for the faint-hearted.
Event Overview
Freezer Camp is a high-energy winter camp designed to challenge Scouts through a mix of activities, teamwork and outdoor adventure — all set against the coldest conditions of the year.
Across the weekend, Scouts will take part in a wide range of activities, building skills, resilience and confidence while embracing the winter environment. With both indoor sleeping and camping available, the event combines comfort with challenge, making it accessible while still delivering a true winter Scouting experience.
Fully catered throughout, Scouts can focus on the experience, the activities and the challenge of taking on the cold.

Who Can Attend
- Scouts
- Maximum 80 young people
- Maximum 10 Scouts per Group

- Time: 6:00pm Friday to 4:00pm Sunday
- Cost: £50 per Scout
- Accommodation: Indoor sleeping and camping

- Group neckerchief (must be worn)

Important Information
- This is a cold-weather event — Scouts must be prepared for winter conditions, including low temperatures and potential snow
- The event will be delivered by the District Events Team under a Nights Away Permit
- Leaders are not required to attend

Booking & Payment
- Bookings open: 12 October 2026
- Bookings close: 22 December 2026
- Bookings must be made online by the Group
- Your Group will be invoiced for all places booked
- Payment should be made by bank transfer before the event
Leader Information
- Leaders are not required to attend
- The event will be fully supervised and delivered by the District Events Team
