Purpose of the Role

To lead the promotion of Doncaster Danum Scouts, strengthening visibility, reputation, and growth through consistent, high-quality communication.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the district’s social media channels
  • Promote events, success stories, and opportunities across the district
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communications
  • Work with Groups to capture and share local stories
  • Support recruitment campaigns for young people and volunteers
  • Build relationships with local press and media
  • Support wider district campaigns and initiatives

  • Strong and consistent social media presence
  • Increased engagement across platforms
  • Growth in membership and volunteer enquiries
  • Positive and professional representation of the district
  • Increased visibility of Scouting across Doncaster

Time Commitment

  • Weekly social media activity
  • Event-based promotion and coverage
  • Occasional planning and coordination meetings

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Creative and organised approach
  • Interest in marketing, PR, or communications

Support & Reporting

  • Reports to: Support Team Lead
  • Works with: District Team, Group Lead Volunteers, Programme and Events Team
