DESCRIPTION:Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Course (Meets Scouts First Response Requirement)\nWe are pleased to offer an accredited Level 3 Paediatric First Aid one day course\, delivered by WF Training. \nThis course meets and exceeds The Scouts First Response requirement and is suitable for volunteers working with young people across all sections. It provides practical\, confidence building first aid skills and results in a nationally recognised qualification. \nThe course is delivered face to face by qualified instructors and covers paediatric specific scenarios alongside core first aid skills relevant to Scouting environments. \nWho should attend\nThis course is ideal for: \n\nAdult volunteers who need to complete or renew their First Response requirement\nNew volunteers who require First Response\n\nWhat to bring\nAll attendees must bring the following: \n\nPhoto identification (required for registration and certification)\nPacked lunch and refreshments\nNotepad and pen for taking notes during the course\n\nCost and payment\nThe cost of the course is £30 per volunteer. \nVolunteers must choose one of the following payment options when booking: \nOption 1: Pay online and reclaim \n\nPay the £30 online at the time of booking\nClaim the cost back from your Scout Group in line with group expenses procedures\n\nOption 2: Pay by bank transfer via your Group \n\nSelect bank transfer when booking\nSend the booking confirmation to your Group Treasurer\nEnsure payment is made no later than 14 days before the course date\n\nWhere the Group is covering the cost\, volunteers must ensure the expense has been approved in advance by the Group Lead Volunteer and or Trustees. \nPlaces may be released if payment has not been received by the deadline.

This will set the direction and expectations for the year ahead. \nThe Role of the Group Lead Volunteer\nA clear reminder of leadership responsibilities around compliance\, safety and sustainability. We will also focus on what drives a strong and effective programme. \nCensus 2026\nA concise review of District data\, highlighting growth\, risk areas and transition gaps. The aim is to use insight to guide support and decision making. \nData Explorer\nA demonstration of how leaders can monitor trends and identify challenges early. This is about proactive leadership rather than firefighting issues. \nOnline Scout Manager\nAn update on the District approach and the support available. The focus is on strengthening programme delivery\, compliance oversight and award progression. \nDistrict Events Process\nAn outline of the future planning model with clear timelines and ownership. This is designed to remove last minute pressure and improve communication. \nOpen Forum Discussion\nA structured opportunity to raise concerns and suggest improvements. Discussion will remain solution focused and constructive. \nYouth Lead Update\nAn update from the District Youth Leads on youth voice\, YouShape and upcoming changes. This reinforces the importance of youth shaped Scouting across every Group. \n\nWhat to Bring\n\nFull uniform. District photographs will be taken for use on the website and communications materials.\n\n\nWho Can Attend\n\nGroup Lead Volunteers\nExplorer Unit Team Leads\n\nFull attendance is important. DESCRIPTION:The Cub Challenge Day at Squirrel Wood is an action packed day of adventure\, teamwork and skill building\, bringing Cub Scouts together from across Doncaster Danum District and surrounding districts for a shared outdoor Scouting experience. \nCubs will be placed into mixed teams of six to eight\, giving them the chance to work alongside Cubs from different Groups\, build new friendships and develop confidence in a supportive environment. The event is designed to encourage teamwork\, problem solving and independence\, while keeping the day fun\, inclusive and engaging for all participants. \nThroughout the day\, teams will rotate around eight to ten activity bases\, ensuring every Cub has the opportunity to take part in each challenge. Activities are designed to support Cub Challenge badges and wider skills progression\, combining adventure with learning and achievement. Planned activities include archery\, tomahawk throwing\, cooking on open fires\, traditional Scout skills\, creative crafts and other outdoor challenges that test teamwork and resilience. \nLeaders from across the district will be spread around the site\, running activities and supporting teams as they move between bases. This approach ensures Cubs are well supervised while encouraging them to take responsibility\, work together and challenge themselves. \nTo add to the excitement\, prizes will be awarded to the top three teams\, recognising effort\, teamwork and participation. DESCRIPTION:The Squirrel Challenge Day at Squirrel Wood is a fun\, friendly introduction to outdoor Scouting\, designed especially for our youngest members. The day focuses on enjoyment\, confidence building and trying new things in a safe and supportive woodland environment. \nSquirrels will remain with their own Groups throughout the event\, helping them feel comfortable and confident as they take part in activities alongside familiar leaders and friends. This approach ensures a calm\, well supported experience that is perfectly suited to their age and stage. \nDuring the day\, Groups will rotate around four to six activity bases\, giving Squirrels the chance to enjoy a range of hands on challenges without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Activities are designed to support Squirrel badges and early skills development\, and may include simple Scout skills\, crafts\, outdoor games and creative challenges that encourage teamwork and participation. \nLeaders remain with their Groups at all times\, supported by the district team running activities across the site. The emphasis of the day is on fun\, exploration and positive experiences rather than competition\, allowing every Squirrel to take part at their own pace. \nThe Squirrel Challenge Day is a brilliant opportunity for young people to experience outdoor Scouting\, build confidence and enjoy a memorable day at Squirrel Wood. \n\nWhat to expect\n\nFun\, age appropriate outdoor activities including crafts\, simple Scout skills\, games and hands on challenges\nActivities designed to support Squirrel badges and skills development\nA relaxed\, supportive introduction to district events and outdoor Scouting\n\n\nWho can attend\n\nSquirrel Scouts from Doncaster Danum District\nSquirrel Scouts from surrounding Scout Districts\nSquirrels supported by their own section leaders throughout the day\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\nGroup necker must be worn\nPacked lunch and drinks\nSuitable outdoor clothing and footwear\n\n\nCost & booking\n\n£10 per Squirrel\nYou will be invoiced for all tickets booked\nPayment should be made by bank transfer at least 30 days before the event\n\n\n\nLeader Ratios\n\nOutdoor Activities held away from the usual meeting place: One adult to four Squirrels\, plus the Leader in charge. DESCRIPTION:The Doncaster Danum District Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the formal annual meeting of the Doncaster Danum Scout Council. \nThe AGM provides an opportunity to reflect on the past year\, review the District’s finances and governance\, and carry out the required elections and appointments to ensure the District continues to operate effectively and in line with Scouts policy. \nThe meeting will include: \n\nA review of the past year and District activities\nPresentation and approval of the annual accounts\nTrustee and governance matters\nElections and appointments as required\nAn opportunity for members of the Scout Council to ask questions\n\nWho should attend\nThis meeting is open to members of the Doncaster Danum Scout Council.This includes all adult volunteers holding a role within Doncaster Danum District. \nAttendance is important as members of the Scout Council are entitled to vote on matters such as the approval of accounts and trustee appointments.
