DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to complete your Expedition Challenge and take the next step towards your Chief Scout’s Gold Award? \nThis expedition gives Scouts the opportunity to plan\, complete and reflect on a real outdoor challenge\, building teamwork\, confidence and independence along the way. \n\nEvent Overview\nThis two-day expedition will see Scout teams walk from 28th Sprotbrough Scout HQ to Squirrel Wood\, covering approximately 15km and completing an overnight camp as part of the Expedition Challenge Award. \nWorking in teams\, Scouts will plan their route and complete a route card under guidance from the District Events Team before setting off. Throughout the expedition\, teams will navigate the route\, work together and develop their outdoor skills. \nOn arrival at Squirrel Wood\, Scouts will camp overnight\, take part in a campfire and be provided with a two course evening meal. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW CANCELLED\nWhat’s happening at Doncaster Mini Jamboree? \nThe Doncaster Mini Jamboree (Bungle-ee) kicks off in style on Friday night with a vibrant opening ceremony that sets the tone for the whole weekend. Expect colour\, music and energy as groups come together to celebrate cultures from around the world. With flag moments\, group performances and shared celebrations\, it is the first chance to feel the buzz of a true Mini Jamboree and the moment Bungle-ee really comes to life. \nSaturday is packed from start to finish with adventure and discovery. Young people will dive into a full programme of activities across the site before the afternoon transforms into a celebration of culture. Each group will represent a country\, bringing its traditions\, creativity and spirit to life in an exciting Jamboree style atmosphere. As the sun sets\, the site will glow with campfire magic\, music and laughter\, followed by a disco and evening entertainment that keeps the excitement going. \nSunday brings the energy right back up with the Doncaster Mini Jamboree (Bungle-ee) Mini Olympics. Teams will take part in a series of fun\, competitive challenges that test teamwork\, determination and Scout skills. With plenty of cheering\, friendly rivalry and shared achievement\, the weekend will close with tired legs\, happy faces and memories that will stay with everyone long after the tents come down. \nExpressions of interest have given us a great starting point. We are now open for closer confirmation of numbers and deposits so the event team can move into the next stage of planning and confirm infrastructure\, activities and suppliers. \nOur target is 350 attendees. \nIf we do not reach that number\, unfortunately the event becomes financially unviable. The Doncaster Mini Jamboree (Bungle-ee) is designed to be ambitious\, high energy and unforgettable for our young people\, so we need to ensure we have adequate numbers to create the memorable event we are all aiming for. \n\nTimings\n\nLeaders will be able to arrive from Thursday to set up their group areas\, with check-in opening on Friday morning\, staying open until all groups have arrived and checked in. Exact arrival times will be shared closer to the event.\nArrival time for young people is from 6:00pm on Friday to allow our volunteer team to arrive & prepare for full arrivals.\nThe event closes on Sunday afternoon after the Scout Skills Challenge and the final ceremony. We expect departures to begin from 2pm.\n\n\nWhat to bring\nGroups will need to bring: \n\n\n\nTents\nCooking equipment\nGas and fuel\nTables and shelters\nSection kit\nPersonal kit for each young person\nGroups will be responsible for their own catering.
