As an Explorer Scout, you will be able to decide your programme, along with the rest of your Unit – whether it is power boating, hiking or enjoying a trip abroad. Some Units hold their meetings in a hall, or even up a mountain!
The highest award you can earn is the Queen’s Scout Award. This is recognised by many employers as the sign of someone that is enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable.
As an Explorer you’ll have chance to join the Young Leaders’ scheme. This can help you to develop your skills in leadership management and organisation. The Young Leaders’ Scheme will help you to build your confidence in leading young people in the other sections such as Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

71st Doncaster Hunafa Scout Group are hosting the first ever Iftar Under the Stars event in Doncaster, this Ramadhan!!
Ramadhan is a holy month in the Islamic Calender. Muslims abstain from food and drink during daylight hours and then come together for a meal at sunset to open the fast (Iftar) and then nightly prayers (Tarawih). It is a time of spiritual reflection, personal development and community unity.
Iftar Under the Stars is a family fun day for charity. It is designed to bring together the families of Scouts, along with the wider Muslim and non-Muslim community, to experience an evening of Scouting activities followed by an evening meal and prayers under the stars.*
We would like to invite you to join us in an evening of adventure, fun and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy in the great outdoors! There is something for everyone no matter what your age! There will be exciting activities like axe throwing, archery, rifle shooting, and others. There will also be bounce activities, stalls with henna, calligraphy, glass engraving and much much more.
There will be congregational prayers (jamaat) at the event for Asr, Maghrib and Taraweeh.
