Travelling to a remote location near Hatfield moors they were to work in small groups of 3/4 without leaders helping and survive for a weekend whilst completing a range of challenges set.
This completely back to basics camping provided them with a box of food for the weekend consisting of items like flour, oats, fruit and vegetables plus sausages and the addition of a partridge, which they had to prepare themselves all over an open fire.

With no cooking utensils apart from tin foil and knives the scouts had to think carefully about how they can cook and produce a substantial meal that will keep them going through the day and overnight.

Along with making a fire and cooking their own food they had to prepare a shelter which would keep the group dry along with a catapult and throwing arrow. As part of the survival aspect they were expected to demonstrate correct filtration of water in a survival situation.
